SUSTRATO
at Tezontle Studio

As part of Art Week in Mexico City, this installation was designed as an opening to immerse people into an edible sculpture. Leftover materials of Tezontle’s artistic processes were used to create a set for food pieces that played along with the studio. “Sustrato” was a representation of artistic techniques normally used in architecture, in this case rock molded chocolate and butter, marble stone merengue and charcoal sanded bread were designed for people to share. Along with this experience dried and charred food techniques were implemented as single pieces that performed as an altogether edible sculpture.
