Throughout the course of three years they have observed their guests and gathered data on the certain patterns portrayed by each person as individuals and as a collective. Regardless of culture, upbringing, circumstance or location in the world, the result of those findings has been interpreted with this collection.

Two points in a sentence signifies emphasis, or to introduce something. It is also used to connect two independent things. The collection is named ‘ : ‘ or Dos Puntos because they are starting a category in tableware that does not exist. Connecting the historic with the futuristic.

Dos Puntos is a collection of metalware that highlight the importance of introducing experimental dining pieces in order to promote intentionality around the table, without creating a barrier between the people who are using it and the food being served. The pieces suggest the importance of shifting one’s focus to slow down time at the table, to be present and to create community. Until now tableware has traditionally been in similar shapes and forms across most cultures. With the introduction of these experimental pieces they aim to awaken a part of the mind that has not yet been exercised. Both sculptural and functional the designs imply that post use, the objects will live displayed out in the open rather than tucked away.

The objects are handmade from 100% food grade stainless steel with a polished finish. The production of each piece supports and honors local craftsmen in Baja California who specialize in subaquatic welding to bring their expert knowledge and skills forward in collaborating with Ananas Ananas.
